A rugged, simple and lightweight air operated pump that requires no priming and is capable of moving close to 1300 gallons of water per hour. The straight through design eliminates clogging and the unit cannot seize.
The pump is available from PLCS and offered in only one size. It is typically used by road utility crews who need to dewater an excavation in order to access an underground utility such as a gas pipe or data line. The pump is one piece with no moving parts and creates suction by introducing air from a compressor into the unit by fastening the supply hose to the 1/2" threaded connection. The lay-flat discharge hose is fastened to the pump using a common hose clamp.
A minimum of 80 CFMs at 100 PSI of compressed air at the nozzle is needed to create the proper vacuum to move the water properly.
Overall, the pump is not intended to replace a large engine driven pump or diaphragm pump.The Venturi Pump is constructed from steel. It is lightweight, compact, portable and does not have any moving parts to fix, which makes it perfect for utility work and defined space dewatering applications.
